In-depth overview
Hidden Jams is a music news website that I created and founded in February 2014; I have run it since then. I developed the entire website and keep it updated, decide all content on which to report, and publish all content. I research, write, and edit all written pieces and maintain the publishing calendar. I write news stories, blogs, album reviews, artist biographies, and long-form informational pieces about the progress of upcoming albums.
My news pieces tend to be shorter, around 300 words; longer blogs and editorial pieces can range from about 1,000 to 2,000 words. My writing style is informative yet casual, readable and engaging yet thorough. I always aim to include all relevant information about a subject and link to related, useful articles on Hidden Jams or other websites. I always get all my news from the original sources whenever possible.
On a number of occasions, I have reported on breaking news that was not available elsewhere. Hidden Jams has thus been cited by other publications including Wikipedia and notable music fans sites such as Beacon Street Online and Green Day Authority. I share my work on social media and post it into music fan groups and online music forums. More often, others find and share my content in groups and fan forums themselves, giving me organic reach.
